With 2 separate installs today, keep on getting, a popup where the greeter should be stating " Unable to read/write the sddm-greeterrc file at var/lib/sddm/.config." Took a look in that directory and there was no sddm-greeterrc file? What can be done? Thank you for any help.
That file does not exist on my installation either.
/var/lib/sddm should belong to sddm: What are the contents and permissions on /var/lib/sddm/.config?
$ sudo ls -lha /var/lib/sddm/.config
Had the same issue. Changing the ownership of the directory and files from root:root to sddm:sddm solved the issue for me.
