No option to blank screen when lid is closed in gnome

Hi, How to I turn on the option to blank screen when laptop lid is closed on gnome.
I am able to do this in kde. But in gnome there is only the option to suspend the session on lid close or do nothing, in which case the display remains on when the lid is closed.
I want just the display turned off when I close the lid. Please help…

and post some more information so we can see what’s really going on. Now we know the symptom of the disease, but we need some more probing to know where the origin lies…

  1. An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information… (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)
  2. the output to gsettings list-recursively org.gnome | grep --ignore-case lid would help as well.
