I overlooked another detail though. Bloody unwarranted routine XD I did not calculate the resume_offset correctly. Specifically I did not divide with the pagesize and logically it could find the file at the wrong place XD

No hibernation on freshly installed btrfs system and after trying some tutorials

Should be self-explained:

So for any reason, it cannot find the swapfile. And I guess the reason is that you target the swapfile inside an encrypted device.

Maybe that is is the issue?

I am not using encryption.
