No audio recording from microphone in Zoom

Hi guys, long time I haven´t seek for help on the forum. For a couple days now I’ve been with an issue in Zoom in where I am able to listen to the other party in the meeting but they cannot hear me. The microphone is not silenced, and other apps like Google Meet/Teamspeak works fine. Is only zoom that is not recording the microphone.

I had checked the audio configuration in zoom but everything seems fine, but when I talk the recording bar doesnt move. I have already updated to the last version of Manjaro.

Here some info of my system.

I have this issue often. There are two places to check. The first is the audio settings on your system. The second is the audio settings in Zoom. Both need to have the right device selected. Assuming your mic works in other apps, try to make the Zoom settings replicate the system settings.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’m using the system microphone and speakers for everything , but Zoom is the only one with the issue. When I check the audio settings in zoom both says “used by the system” , speakers work fine , micro does not.

I have already tried plugging in a headset that I have and the same issue as well. I have sound from the headsets but not able to make the microphone to catch my voice.

In my experience, “used by the system” is not always right. Try the various other options. One of them is probably right.

Headphones has an additional complication: in system audio settings, you need to change the profile to handset, not high fidelity, because high fidelity disables the mic in the headphones.

I only have that choice in zoom. I will try your suggestion as well, maybe Im missing something

try installing pipewire with this package: manjaro-pipewire, it will give you dependency issues, so uninstall them, install again pipewire, reboot and check
if it doesnt work install pulse, with this manjaro-pulse package, it will remove pipewire, reboot and check

Per reviewing the AUR package, I see that the problem might be that the new version of Zoom which is 5.10.6-1 is causing the same issue as mine. Downgrading zoom to the previous version solved the issue.
Thanks all.
