(asus laptop)
hello all
after quit a troublesome installation process,i finally made it to the desktop.
the current issue is that i can’t hear any sound.
I’ve checked the audio settings but couldn’t find any thing to activate it.
saw online i should try alsamixer in the terminal;
it doesn’t seem muted and in f6 choose sound card,i have “default” and “enter device name”.
in the taskbar i have under the audio icon either “dummy output” or "simultaneous output"if i check “add virtual output device for…”.
Thanks for your help.
Please post the output of inxi -Fazy
and sudo dmesg | egrep -i '(snd|sound|alsa|hda|sof)'
.

would you mind telling me how to do that?
Open the “Add/remove software” program and search for sof-firmware
, then install it; or run sudo pacman -Syu sof-firmware
.
