Hi,

the channel might be muted. Try running

alsamixer

and switch to the HDMI output. If the Master and/or PCM channel show MM at the bottom, they are muted. Just select them and press m to unmute. You also might have to increase the volume.

Have you tried to unmute the Headphone channel and increase its volume?

Also, can you please press F6 in alsamixer? That gives you a list of soundcards.

Ok… I did some googling on this and it seems that other people have had this issue as well. For some it helped to use pavucontrol and set HDMI as the output channel. You might have to install pavucontrol through pacman or pamac first.
