No Analog sound device

After update and reboot I don’t have analog sound device. The digital works but I don’t like it.

Please read this and provide that information:

Only important and relevant for you from alsa-info.sh

Thanks but downgrade doesn’t work for me.

That can mean 2 things.

  • You wanted to downgrade some package and it ended in an error.
  • The downgraded package did not make things to work better

But, in that comment was about trying a different kernel. Probably lower version than current. Have you tried that?

I am talking about the kernel downgrade to 4.19. And I am currently after a restart on LTS 5.60.
So, how can I downgrade the package? I am talking about a manual.

Actually 5.6 is EOL = end of life, never meant to get LTS. You should stop using it. :slight_smile:
There is no reason to downgrade kernel 4.19.141-2 to a lower version of it. Is probably the most stable LTS kernels. Just install it as is on all branches
sudo mhwd-kernel -i linux419

The downgrade package has to be installed, then run:
downgrade <package>
will show all the available versions of it, and you can chose a number, but i recommend cautions on this.

It says invalid option
And how can I check which package should I downgrade?

Sorry, my bad. Corrected now
sudo mhwd-kernel -i linux419

Unable to downgrade alsa and I used the wiki.

Update: After downgrade of the kernel 5.60 and 4.19 crashed on boot so I had to switch to 5.7 with crapy sound.

Now that you have kernel v5.7, please post the responses to these commands

sudo dmesg | grep -E 'snd|sof-'

All looks ok in dmesg - no errors
4 output connections

line_outs=3 (0x14/0x15/0x16
hp_outs=1 (0x1b

3 input connections

Front Mic=0x19
Rear Mic=0x18
Line=0x1a

A few online searches showed nothing about a kernel patch listed for the Analog audio device ID name or ID code [1043:8735] .
But also no mention of of any Linux audio problems.
I expected to see some because there have been audio problems on certain AMD Ryzen motherboards

Audio connections in ALSA look ok so problem may be in Pulseaudio
