… I am completely new to all this…

Hello @oskar and welcome :wink:

So you talking about that monitor?

So the Monitor has sound and is connected via DVI-D at least on the GPU side. I never expect any Audio Signals through DVI-D, but I guess if you have a DVI-D to HDMI connection (HDMI on GPU and DVI-D on the Monitor), then it could possibly work.

Maybe this method works? Configuring Analog Sound DVI to HDMI - MythTV Official Wiki

This motherboard should have Realtek ALC892 onboard audio, but system data is showing only the GPU detected as an audio device
Check motherboard UEFI/BIOS settings to ensure HD audio controller is enabled

I also suggest you turn off Add virtual output device for simultaneous output on all local sound cards in KDE audio settings
This option is not likely to work with only one sink available and troubleshooting onboard audio will be less complicated if it is removed

i had to edit /etc/udev/rules.d/90-mhwd-prime-powermanagement.rules and comment the related audio section with an # because nvidia-audio is disabled as default (for whatever reason)

@megavolt
Hi, no, I am talking about audio output from the back of the computer, where I would like to plug in an amp and speakers…

Thanks Olii,
I only have this file: /etc/udev/rules.d/70-snap.snapd.rules
and secondly, I do not want to use NVIDIA sound, I want to use the sound output from my motherboard.
NVIDIA sound works fine.

YES! That was it!
Have no idea how it got disabled… Feel so silly…
Thanks a lot!

Thanks all for your help, sound works now!
