Hi and welcome to the forum,

could you check if you as $USER are part of the video group:
cat /etc/group | grep video ?

Hi and thank you.

Here is the output I get:

So I think I am not.

:+1: Welcome to Manjaro! :+1:

  1. Please read this:
    How to provide good information
and post some more information so we can see what’s really going on. Now we know the symptom of the disease, but we need some more probing to know where the origin lies…

  2. An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information… (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)

  3. I’m an editor here on this site so I’ve edited the link in for you as @Hanzel brought this to my attention.

  4. imgur doesn’t work for privacy nazis nuts like me, use https://paste.pics in the future.

:+1:

P.S. If you enter a bit more details in your profile, we can also see which Desktop Environment you’re using, which CPU/GPU or Kernel, … you have without typing it every time

I understand. Thank you!

You can add yourself by issuing:
sudo usermod --append --groups video $USER

Maybe it will bring back night light… :crossed_fingers:
