I used manjaro-arm-flasher before in two instances, which proves on orangepi-800 it broke my system after flashing to 64 gb sd card formatted in NTFS (New File Transfer System) of that image kernel so manjaro-arm-flasher would recognize it, poweroff and reboot does not function with powerbutton had to manually type ```poweroff```` in terminal Konsole and when i start the newly installled sd card the screen flickers and does not load manjaro logo.
I chose Unstable over Stable because i can use sudo pacman -Syu
to update my system easier than add or remove software which is pamac, i also use it because it once before did not break for several months, and did not show flags like stable release.
202401 release does not break note got it working
Just to mentionâŚ
What branch you use has nothing to do with whether you use pacman
or pamac
.
You can choose to use pacman
, and even remove pamac
entirely, on any branch.
If you mean the âKnown issues and solutionsâ wiki post that exists on the Stable Update Announcement threads ⌠Iâve got news for you. They dont exist on Unstable
simply because we dont need them. It does not mean package changes requiring manual interaction, or any other issues, as described elsewhere just does not happen. Its usually what we discuss amongst ourselves that ends up in that wiki post for the other branch users.
Unless you are creating the image for another person - it is better to use the git version of manjaro-arm-installer as this give you the option of specifying unstable branch and preconfigure the image card with username etc.
git clone https://gitlab.manjaro.org/manjaro-arm/applications/manjaro-arm-installer
cd manjaro-arm-installer
sudo bash manjaro-arm-installer arm-unstable
Do you think pamac causes errors in the system, and thatâs what your insinuating, that it was to just use pacman?
so your saying that pre-installed manjaro arm flasher can cause faultiness?
and even if you have pre-installed manjaro arm flasher one might need to reinstall it ontop of the current one?

This is what i see, the processor must of been more targeted towards some device with rk808 processor instead of the rk3399 one that is associated with mine. ==> ERROR: module not found: ``` ``ârtc_rk808â

Does your device have Real Time Clock rk808. Besides that according to this the module should be called rk808-rtc.
No I am not.
If your system is up-to-date then you have the latest version.
The flasher downloads prebuilt images which you need to configure on first launch.
The installer script on the other hand installs and configures from the repositories so it may be a better option - unless you are giving the cards away for others to use.
Personally⌠I do remove pamac and use pacman (+paru for aur helper).
But all I was trying to say was that your choice of package manager should not influence your choice of branch, because it does not matter.
i am pretty sure it does not have it, there is no way around the installation, plus when i lose these updated settings i get errors like screen is black and white until i click the desktop, and sometimes sound is disabled, and i have to reboot it until the sound and wifi is functioning properly, it asks for my wifi password if it is not getting an update somehow, i am guessing i just need to manually install things for myself.
Packages (2) linux-opi-6.6.10-1 linux-opi-headers-6.6.10-1
i think since i turned off my system from powerbrick instead of poweroff
command it messed with real time clock, because sometimes when i use the original shutdown logo button on my keyboard, it stalls on the spinning logo. but i just assume it is a lack of power going through the keyboard at once.
I am using it for personal gain, and for libre office, since i donât have to go âoh i got windows 11, I donât need microsoft word or there ad free programsâ lol
