I have successfully installed Manjaro KDE Plasma on my Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 141TL6, 11th Gen Intel Core i5 laptop, and installed all available updates. The laptop’s display resolution is set at 2880 x 1800 pixels. Unfortunately, everything on screen looks far too small.
For information, the default resolution for my laptop should be 2240 x1400. This setting is not present in Settings - Display Configuration though. How can I fix this please?
Thanks in advance.
You might have better success using Wayland, if you are not already; there are more scaling options than when using X11.
System Settings – Display & Monitor
If that doesn’t produce the results you want, consider setting a lower resolution; 1920x1080, for example, which is still more than adequate.
Cheers.
Thank you for the reply. How do I know which I am using? And then how can I change to the other? (Wayland or X11) Thank you.
loginctl show-session 1 -p Type
should show it.
You can switch via the login screen, usually in the bottom left corner.
In my case:
$ loginctl show-session 1 -p Type
Type=wayland
The easiest is to note the toggle position before you login.
In SDDM (the login screen) there is a select-box in the bottom left corner of the screen. Usually it has a choice of two settings; Plasma (X11) and Plasma (Wayland) – choose the latter to login using Wayland.
Cheers.
Many thanks for the reply.
Thank you very much.
