New install crashes a bit after logging in

I installed Manjaro on the reccomendation of a friend, this is my first OS besides Windows. It seems to crash minutes after logging in. No idea what could be causing it since, well, I literally just installed it from a windows install. Its on an HP Laptop, would need to find out exactly what model though.

*It’s the KDE variant of the OS.

You probably created the Live Media to an USB then installed it, or did you “installed” via WSL = Windows Subsystem for Linux? Check this:

And share that information.

Got it. Yeah, flashed a USB and installed via live media.

Update, seems to have stopped for a good while, but then stsrted doing it once again, now it takes even less time to freeze. Only thing ive done is install wine during that time.

Maybe go with a swap file or install zram-generator
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/swap

Alright, I’ve installed it. I need anything else? Or just wait it out and see if its fixed yeah?

yes, see if the issue comes up, watch how memory and swap fill up before the crash or hang.
if all goes fine, then probably swap helped.
