I upgraded my hardware more than a month ago and have been using Windows 10 since (dual boot):
Mobo MSI X470 Gaming Plus → Asus TUF gaming B650-PLUS (no WiFi)
CPU Ryzen 7 2700X → Ryzen 7 7700X
RAM 16 Gb DDR4 → 32 Gb DDR5 (Crucial Pro)
GPU RX6600XT → RX7600
I am using the same 4 SATA drives as before: Win10 system (C:), Win10 data (D:), Linux (a Toshiba HDWE150) and a shared SSD. GRUB and Windows boot manager are on the linux drive. I was previously using kernel 6.6 and have tried both that and 6.14.
To cut a long story short, Win10 gave no problems but the UEFI thought that “ubuntu” (GRUB?) was on D:. After re-installing and updating GRUB plus updating Manjaro, the UEFI now recognises both GRUB (labelled as “Manjaro”) and the Windows boot manager on the linux drive. However, when I boot into Manjaro
from GRUB I get a black screen from which I can access terminals (I use tty2).
I can run Manjaro and access the linux drive from an up-to-date live ISO. I have tried all of the repair options from the ISO with no luck.
The black screen made me think of a GPU driver issue but MHWD shows that video-linux is installed and Inxi shows that the RX7600 is recognised as such.
I would greatly appreciate any help if there is something obvious that I’m missing. I’m still best described as a complete beginner when it come to Linux/Manjaro. I couldn’t even get the Inxi info (which scrolls off the top of the terminal screen) over to Windows so I could post it here.
You can redirect it to a file, and save the file somewhere accessible from windows.
inxi -zv8 > /path/to/file
Better yet you can use a live USB to run inxi
and post it here.

To get info on the HDD Manjaro installation, rather than the live USB version, I right-clicked the Toshiba 5.0 Tb volume in Thunar, selected “Terminal” and ran inxi -zv8 from that terminal. I hope this is correct, though I’m not sure where it gets kernel 6.12 from.

Only partition /dev/sdb1 seems to be detected (looks like your ESP). I guess your Linux was/is on /dev/sdb2 ?
Boot into a live ISO and post output of
sudo fdisk -l

Hello Wollie,
Yes, Manjaro is on sdb2, which is on the Toshiba/Linux drive. When I run the recovery program from the ISO usb I see this:
Boot mode: EFI
EFI partition: /dev/sdb1
Selected partition: /dev/sdb2
Selected system: Manjaro Linux (25.0.0) - ManjaroLinux
Partition format:

I’ll post the result of those commands you gave in a few minutes…

Have you looked into this already:
When we have problems gaining access to our systems it is difficult to gather information, let alone fix any problems. Here we will cover common causes and solutions to ‘manjaro wont boot’.
TTY
If your desktop does not load properly then you might still be able to use most, if not all, functionality by dropping to a non-graphical TTY.
By default your system will have multiple TTYs, with each corresponding to an Fx key. Your desktop is assigned to one as well - most often F1.
You can change…
I tried to fix it but ended up losing both Windows and Manjaro, so had to reinstall both.
Thanks for the pointers, but to be honest they just enabled me to get myself into more trouble! Feel free to mark the thread as closed.
