may you post a little bit more information. the inxi-command below is a good start to get an overview and is the basic info that you should give to others as minimum.

  1. Please read this:
    [HowTo] Provide System Information
and press the three dots below your post and press the :pencil2: to give us more information so we can see what’s really going on.
Now we know the symptom of the disease, but we need some more probing to know where the origin lies…
  2. An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information for us to be able to help you. (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)
Also, please copy-paste that output in-between 3 backticks ``` at the beginning and end of the code/text.

As Olli posted we need more info. The error: target not found: linux513-nvidia is a good start as kernel 5.13 hasn’t been supported in quite some time.

I had installed just majaro as it was. Maybe i should just uypdate that?

post output from:
mhwd-kernel -li

Currently running: 5.13.19-2-MANJARO (linux513)
The following kernels are installed in your system:

  • linux510
  • linux513

so switch to the 510 kernel in the grub menu, then uninstall the 513 with this command:
sudo mhwd-kernel -r linux513
then run update again:
pamac update

I would install kernel 5.15.

Just did with the manjaro settings manager. Got this:

Currently running: 5.15.41-1-MANJARO (linux515)
The following kernels are installed in your system:

  • linux510
  • linux513

i told you to uninstall first the 513 kernel, unless you uninstall it, you cannot update …

You can also uninstall kernel 5.13 with the System settings.

apparently I managed to break the grub bootloader and now I can’t even boot.

this is a total mess and I doubt it’s worth it to even try to fix it as I tried to install the grub boot loader and it didn’t work and since I don’t have any files I don’t mind her installing the newest version kernel from scratch

You can reinstall Grub with the Manjaro USB stick.

Well i installed the newest KDE iso. Ensured i have the 5.15 kernel using

mhwd-kernel -li

Currently running: 5.15.32-1-MANJARO (linux515)
The following kernels are installed in your system:
   * linux515

then did
pamac update
and updated 2gb of everything pretty much

then tried:
sudo mhwd -i pci video-nvidia

and got:

Warning: a version of config 'video-nvidia' is already installed!
Use -f/--force to force installation...

Nothing installed yet.

Problem solved! :raised_hands:

Deketed the config file manually.

Sorry for the long posts.

This explains it pretty clear: https://stackoverflow.com/a/11401523

Nvidia-settings call a function which cannot be validated at the GTK, but still it works.
