What I have tried

Restart NetworkManager.service and wpa_supplicant.service. No luck.

Boot with linux515 LTS kernel. No luck.

The network works fine in LiveCD.

sudo nmcli device set enp5s0 managed yes and sudo nmcli device set wlp6s0 managed yes executed without error, but the device is still in unmanaged status.

I don’t know KDE or Plasma but the symbol in your screenshot looks like airplane mode - is it on or is that indicating off?

The airplane mode is off.

something or someone switched off your interfaces. Try to bring them up manually, see 2. Bringing interfaces up/down
Does this change something? Is the network activated in the network manager?
Also maybe post the output from “brctl show” to verify that the bridges did not steal the interfaces.

HP

Hi @manroja,

I wonder whether you could read this post in order to solve your problem.

‘Iwlwifi fails repeatedly with intel ax200 - #2 by Nix’

Hope it helps, regards

Thank you. Good news! It kind of works.

After running sudo ip l set dev enp5s0 up, the LED start blinking. Then I ran sudo dhclient enp5s0 to get an IP and now have Internet access. No luck with WiFi though, the interface is still down.

Network Manager still displays a red cross.
image

I think the issue here is all interfaces are unmanaged for some reason, and I can’t change it through sudo nmcli device set enp5s0 managed yes

/etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf is empty, and /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d is empty. I don’t know what else I’m missing.

I found “Networking is disabled by state file” message when checking log using journalctl -b 1 | grep NetworkManager

I then found the network is disabled by /var/lib/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.state for some mysterious reason. Delete the file and the problem is solved. Now the interfaces are properly managed.
