Need support for installing Finger Print Driver and Keyboard Central Nub point tracker for Asus Expertbook P2451FB

I have tried several options like fprint and nub sensepoint or track point. the hardware model is expertbook p2451fb

I have also tried fingerprint GUI and have some missing package metadata error and corrupted package even after compiling the git repository. I have also tried scanning the hardware but no results in fingerprint id. As per the windows drivers, I was able to look into it and the device seemed to be elan micro-technologies. Please help

Your inxi output doesn’t even show any fingerprint reader, so:

  • Try kernels 5.13 Stable and 5.14 RC-6 (:warning: 5.14 is an “experimental” kernel!!!)
  • If the fingerprint reader still doesn’t show up, contact your hardware manufacturer for the correct Linux drivers.

:sob:

I have upgraded kernel to the stable version, but the sensor isn’t picking up any data, I have shared the screenshot. will be waiting for next stable release.

I have a P2451FA Expertbook with the very same issues.
In addition, the laptop also has dedicated left- and right-click buttons above the touchpad area, and they do not work either. Below is the output of xinput list. The sensepoint nub (trackpoint device in the middle of the keyboard) is not even recognized…

Hope the New kernel release would be able to fix this

Hi Fabby,

I tried to search for the elantech, but they do not have any means of communication for the support the get the insights for the assembly set for further instructions.
