My screen turns black every few seconds while gaming

Hey everyone,

I think after the current update I have the issue that when entering a game on steam via proton in fullscreen (not windowed mode) my screen turns black every few seconds for 2 seconds which is fairly annoying…
As a sidenote: while the game turned black the second monitor was normal, so I assume it was only the game.
For BattleBit the issue was there only sometimes but I could trigger it by pressing the tab key which opened the scoreboard in the game.

Is there anything I can do? So far I’ve tried different kernel and proton versions but have no clue what else I should try…

I’ve also had a look at this post here but it seems like the settings ui changed quite a bit in the meantime and the option is not there anymore…

Since the “how to post” section mentions a few basic infos that everyone should post here we go:

You probably have enabled adaptive sync and run games on HDMI connected monitor – disable adaptive sync for this monitor or change connection to DP. You can do it in Display and MonitorDisplay Configuration

Thanks a lot! Is there any way I could have figured this out myself?
Just forcing adaptive sync to be disabled worked for me… before it was on automatic…
