Today i changed kernels from 518 to 519 and started experiencing weird things like: my screen freezes after 5-10 mins from boot… any thoughts on what might be wrong?
I used 5.19 since it was released and never experiened issues with KDE like you described. I have now swtiched to 6.0 and all is well.
Should of already been on 5.19 and now 6.0. Has to be system specific. That said you should of followed the instructions for creating a proper help request thread.
Have you tried any other kernels? You could try 6.0 or the latest LTS which is 5.15
I have 515 installed but when i boot into i need to install wifi adapter driver rtw89 so i cant access internet, im gonna try that though and if the issue wont occur then i’ll try to get around the driver problem, thanks for your time man
You could install the driver for that kernel before switching to it.
Yea but i cant desktop freezes after like seconds , its worse now than it was before
installed 6.0 works thus far, lets see <3
Does it work well with suspend or hibernation when using your AMD GPU?
Sorry I can’t comment. I have suspend and hibernation disabled as I use it on my desktop.
No, because you’ve given us nothing to go on.
Please see [HowTo] Request support
I’m sorry but i don’t know what else to say, when I boot in i do my usual stuff like opening brave, browsing through internet, watch some youtube videos, write some code for work, and suddenly everything freezes, i cant do anything, i cant click on anything, i cant use shortcuts. I have to force shut down my laptop start it and then pray that it wont happen again. this doesn’t happen every time, but when it happens it is really annoying.
im new here so could you tell me what info do you need me to supply?
does it happens also with the 5.15 kernel?
provide system info:

yes i didnt like it, because i needed help and all you did was to make me feel lesser but that doesn’t matter as long as my question wasnt asked correctly. you could have said something like “cant help, need more info” and then could have specified what info could i have supplied, because i dont know… i really dont, i was just experiencing problems and i posted about it. anyways still you took your time to look at my post thanks for that, no need to reply further.

here is the info you requested, I haven’t had the chance to test it I’ll test and then reply thanks for your time.
you are running plasma so do this:
and add there this line:
save it and reboot! … this will disable useless kwin/qt logs so that the logs that we need will be more readable.
ok, so switch to the 5.15LTS kernel and test… if the freeze happens again, force reboot, and then provide logs from the freeze:
journalctl -b-1 -p4 --no-pager
journalctl -b-1 -p5 --no-pager | tail -20
will do sir, thanks
