Mute Switch mutes the audio but the led indicator on the button doesn’t light up. The led works on windows.

Can not find anything else.
Upgraded the kernel to 5.16 but no luck.
Everything else is working perfectly fine. No manual configuration, nothing… Only the mute switch ( Win/Mod key + F5) LED is bugging me a lot. Though it mutes the audio just fine, I am missing the yellow/orange glowing light.
User on a another HP laptop ( Omen 15-en0044ur ) reported a similar problem to kernel developers

But OMEN Laptop 15-en0xxx has a different subvendor ID code [103c:8787]
(confirmed from hardware scans for similar systems - AMD Family 17h/19h HD Audio Controller)
so the patch for the mute LED will not be used for this device automatically
and kernel developers did not create a model name for this patch to be used on other devices
I suggest you try using the hda-verb commands suggested in the Bugzilla report to try turning LED on and off
( Ensure package alsa-tools is installed for hda-verb tool )

It turns out thatsudo hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC1D0 0x20 0x500 0x0B && sudo hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC1D0 0x20 0x400 0x7778enables this LED and
sudo hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC1D0 0x20 0x500 0x0B && sudo hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC1D0 0x20 0x400 0x7774`disables.
If the hda-verb commands work to change the LED, get ALSA information for both LED states
sudo alsa-info.sh
That would be more than sufficient evidence to support a Bugzilla request to kernel developers
to add a quirk for this device to use the same patch - ( SND_PCI_QUIRK(0x103c, 0x8787… )
Or a model option to allow use of the patch - ALC285_FIXUP_HP_MUTE_LED

You should have package alsa-utils installed to provide alsa-info.sh script and amixer utility. Package is included on all Manjaro official ISOs
I suggest you install metapackage manjaro-alsa to ensure system has all the required ALSA packages
