:+1: Welcome to Manjaro! :+1:

  1. Please read this:
    How to provide good information
and post some more information so we can see what’s really going on. Now we know the symptom of the disease, but we need some more probing to know where the origin lies…

  2. An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information… (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)
Also, please copy-paste that output in-between 3 backticks ``` at the beginning and end of the code/text.

  3. Also post the output of:

    mount | grep "^/run/"

:+1:

P.S. If you enter a bit more details in your profile, we can also see which Desktop Environment you’re using, which CPU/GPU or Kernel, … you have without typing it every time

After the boot I have no output for

mount | grep "^/run/"

I forgot to add those info in the new forum :frowning:
I use KDE AMD Ryzen 7 3800X AMD Radeon RX 570 32Gb RAM

  1. In the future, when providing code/output, please copy-paste that output in-between 3 backticks ``` at the beginning and end of the code/text so that the output looks like this:

    instead of like this:

(as that makes both our lives much easier)

  2. No need to do anything right now as I’m an editor here on this site and have fixed it for you already. However, in the future I might not see your post so review my edits by pushing the orange pencil above the post I just fixed.

  3. So that means that

are gone as well after a boot?

Your /run/media folders is created on the fly by gvfs when you mount a removable device.

The /run folder is a volatile folder created at runtime and destructed at shutdown.

You cannot depend on the folder being available for persistent mounts - for that you need a permanent filesystem location.

If you need ideas or a guide to create permanent mount points read this topic

thanks to both,
but I made a folder for a static mount so when I boot one partition is mounted always on that folder with fstab.
what is wrong are those folders that are made when I open other partitions and they are numbered in sequence

Please elaborate what you’re doing exactly?

This are the partitions

and this is my run/media/user

So when I click on one of those partition it create a new folder on run/media/paolo
Hope this is more clear

  • So what you’re seeing is normal because you’re using the Dolphin automount functionality and every single click on a partition is an additional mount.
  • If you want any of those partitions mounted permanently, you need to add them to fstab and then they will show up wherever you’ve mounted them and only once and will disappear from your partition automount list.

Thanks Fabby, can I delete those unused folder ?

If you have to ask, that means you’re not taking backups, so have a look here:

No, there’s no need to delete them as you found out yourself:

:grin::wink:

Thanks Fabby,
yes I don’t backup the /run folder.

You don’t need to! (Read the article: it explains the difference between a system backup and a data backup)

Thanks Fabby
