Mouse not recognized well after dual booting

Hi there, I have a generic mouse with extra buttons in a PC with Manjaro and Windows in dual boot. The mouse works great until I boot in windows and then go back to manjaro. Then, the extra keys don’t work until I reconnect the mouse.

What could be the cause of this? Is there a way to solve it? Is there a way to reconnect a device from the terminal so I can create a startup script that does that?

The cause is that Microsoft Windows does not properly release all of the hardware upon a warm reboot into another operating system. This is especially the case with USB devices.

The solution is to disable Windows Fast Boot, and to also disable the Fast Boot setting in the computer’s UEFI settings.
