Mouse lag when program FPS is low on Wayland

Hi,

I recently started using Wayland and have noticed an issue with my mouse pointer when I have applications with low FPS running. I run a game on one of my windows that varies in FPS. When the FPS is high, my mouse is very smooth and responsive but when the FPS tanks in the game, my mouse seems to be attached to that framerate and starts being incredibly sluggish and unresponsive. I’m not very well versed in Wayland but it’s as if the compositor is tying itself to the program’s framerate. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

My specs:

Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.92.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3
Kernel Version: 5.15.31-2-MANJARO (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz
Memory: 15.6 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT

Thanks

EDIT: After trying to find the cause some more I found that it’s not just the mouse that experiences lag, it’s the entire desktop. Wayland seems to match the FPS of the OpenGL program that is running. Is this intended?
