Every time I try and open a game (Apex Legends for example), it'll launch, stop at some point, and crash. Tried asking in the Manjaro discord server, got nothing as of me writing this. I have no idea what to do now, this is the first time something like that has happened to me. Also keep in mind that I'm not exactly linux-savvy, so any directions will have to be as detailed as you can make them. Any help appreciated, and thanks in advance.
You’ll want the proprietary NVIDIA driver installed for gaming. You currently have the reverse engineered, open-source driver installed.
See Configure NVIDIA (non-free) settings and load them on Startup - Manjaro
Typed in
sudo mhwd -a pci nonfree 0300
got this:
Sourcing /etc/mhwd-x86_64.conf
Has lib32 support: true
Sourcing /var/lib/mhwd/db/pci/graphic_drivers/nvidia/MHWDCONFIG
Processing classid: 0300
Sourcing /var/lib/mhwd/scripts/include/0300
Processing classid: 0302

linux414
and companion packages are no longer in the repositories. The oldest available kernel is 419.
Remove the 4.14 kernel and all other unsupported kernels before trying to install the nvidia driver.
I deleted all old versions, installed the new drivers, rebooted, fired up apex, and it works. Thanks to you, smart people.
Can you post mhwd-kernel -li
?
