Monitor disconnects when opening specific applications

Today I updated all my applications after a quite long time running pacman -Syu, pamac update -a and snap refresh. Everything went fine so far, but now my external display keeps disconnecting when opening some specific applications (such as IntelliJ Idea) or performing some actions (for example watching a video, pretty much everything that needs some performance). After a few seconds the display will re-connect, but then disconnect again the next time an application is opened / some actions are performed.

This screen is connected via USB-C Adapter (HDMI). My other external screen that is connected just via HDMI has no problem at all. If I connect the working screen to the USB-C adapter it will show the same behavior. So something about the USB-C connection might be off.

I read through some threads and added i915.enable_psr=0 to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT in /etc/default/grub (and ran sudo update-grub), which did not change anything.

I also switched my Kernel back to 5.10 which did not help.

At this point I do not know what to do further, any help would be appreciated

Here is my inxi -v 8:

Edit: This topic closed automatically. Thanks for your help @Olli & @linux-aarhus. I tried using a different USB-C adaptor and everything is working fine now :tada:

which of them is connected via usb-c?

Currently the Samsung U32J59x, but i tried switching and also the Acer wont work
connected via USB-C

Noting you are using x11

Lenovo and Intel - usually a really good combination

This may be causing your issues - the adapter you are using - according the linux hardware database the device is failing on the probed devices.

this was the warning/error with the samsung

can you try this with the acer again and run the inxi command to check if the same edid-error/warning is also existing with the acer ?
