MMS via Ting on the Pinephone

I added the MMSC from https help ting com/hc/en-us/articles/205428698-APN-setup-guide#android-apn-settings-with-the-x3-sim-card-0-1 to try and get mms working on Majaro Phosh. Since adding that setting though it seems that chatty is no longer responsive (maybe a lockup from bad entry?)

Has anyone else had success with mms on Ting with the Pinephone? I didn’t put anything in the proxy field (issue persists in reboots, os on SDcard)

I did the configuration from the Chatty settings GUI, but I don’t see any issues in ~/.mms/modemmanager/mms :

[Modem Manager]
CarrierMMSC=http://wholesale.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc
MMS_APN=wireless.dish.com
CarrierMMSProxy=NULL
DefaultModemNumber=NULL
AutoProcessOnConnection=true
AutoProccessSMSWAP=true
IMSI=<Censored>

[Settings]
UseDeliveryReports=true
TotalMaxAttachmentSize=1100000
MaxAttachments=25
AutoCreateSMIL=true
ForceCAres=false

Do you have data and calls working?

I do have data and calls working, haven’t tested hotspot tethering. Chatty was working with texts and about as responsive as pinephone applications get until i enabled MMS, now Chatty is so slow I thought it was nonresponsive (30+second delays from input) rest of the phone and applications are unaffected and behave normally. MMS is working and I received the test photo mms.

Is it super slow for anyone else? (Tried in low and high signal areas around town)

Using latest beta I’m able to get MMS working on Ting. I am running the alternative modem firmware though.

My mms config:

CarrierMMSC=http://wholesale.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc
MMS_APN=wireless.dish.com
CarrierMMSProxy=NULL
DefaultModemNumber=NULL
AutoProcessOnConnection=true
AutoProcessSMSWAP=true
IMSI=<unique>

[Settings]
UseDeliveryReports=false
TotalMaxAttachmentSize=1100000
MaxAttachments=25
AutoCreateSMIL=false
ForceCAres=false```

Also look in cellular settings, APN settings to verify your APN is correct. If it is not, make a new one called “Ting” and just set “wireless.dish.com” as the APN value.
