Missing a refresh rate since UPDATE, GIGABYTE AORUS 17 laptop

As I said on previous post ([Testing Update] 2022-01-17 - OpenSearch, Kernels, KDE, Cinnamon, Pipewire, Mesa - #10 by Morialo) my laptop “GIGABYTE-Aorus 17” have a 300Hz monitor which works perfectly with any kernel except for 5.16 and above, and don’t know where the problem is, so I put this here as a reference, since this issue appears to be unique.
(I don’t know if this might help, but I use optimus-manager to switch GPUs)

Kernel 5.16 and the Nvidia Drivers 495.xx do not make a reliable mix. There are plenty of discussions about it, on different platforms/forums … You should wait on using the 5.16 kernel till the Nvidia 510.xx driver will hit stable, as for now is only in unstable, and use the 5.15 kernel, or switch branches.

Thanks for the reply, I’ll stick with the 5.15 kernel, since there’s no issues with it. Let’s see what will happen in the next coming updates.

Looks like it is already an existing issue (xrandr does not correctly switch display refresh rates, but pretends it did (#125) · Issues · drm / intel · GitLab), I’ll report my case and link to this issue here, maybe someone might find it useful.

Solved upstream.
