Microphone Problem (Manjaro XFCE 21.2.5)

Hello friends!

This is my first linux experience and first day using linux. I have a problem. when i plugged my headset i can listen sound good but built in mic does not working. I think Pulseaudio cannot detect my microphone.

(curiously enough, just hours ago using Windows 10 I had same problem :joy: and that’s the reason why I downloaded Manjaro Linux.)

Welcome to Manjaro forum

If headset does not work on proprietary OS I suspect that scapegoating PulseAudio

Please post more information about system

inxi -Fazy

and more information about PulseAudio configuration

pacmd list-sources

I had a similar issue with my Razer Krakens - the sound would play just fine, but the microphone wasn’t working.

I found this solution to be working for me.

Edit this file sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

and add this line into it options snd_hda_intel index=0 model=dell-headset-multi

I dont have it in that directory :((

I didn’t either. Just do sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and it will create the file for you. Then add options snd_hda_intel index=0 model=dell-headset-multi inside the file, save it, close it and you should be good.
