Manjaro Redmi distribution

I want to adapt the Manjaro distribution to Redmi phones. I sent an e-mail to the Manjaro form about this but I did not get a response. I just want to be sure. If I will have any problems with copyright, please let me know. It would be ridiculous for me to have any problems with this anyway because I reported that it belongs to Manjaro but I am still writing here to be sure. Project page

I saw your email, however you did not include enough information for anyone to even consider your proposal.

You have now linked your GitHub project page, however it has no public repositories. There’s nothing for the @Manjaro-Arm team to review.

Okay, I understand, I could have entered detailed information about the project via e-mail, but I wanted to get your answer, so we can talk in more detail. Also, I connected a new repository and started the project just today because I didn’t want to have these copyright problems in the past. I had adapted another application without asking before, so I had copyright problems, so I want to develop it by getting your opinion in advance.

Are you going to use hardware abstraction layer to make it work on Redmi ?

There should not be any copyright issue as long as you maintain the packages in your own repo and call it Manjaro based OS and not Manjaro OS.

Please share your development plan.

My development plan is as follows, I will adapt the Redmi kernel structure to the Manjaro kernel structure like Postmarketos. In fact, I will make some modifications to the Redmi kernel directly during development because the device has an Android compatibility layer and cannot boot every kernel structure. Therefore, as a development, I will first make some modifications to the Redmi kernel to make it compatible with Manjaro. The problem is that Pacman repos should be compatible with the device and should be compiled according to the device structure. Because when you compare the Redmi kernel with some Android kernels, there are some differences. Mostly, the Android kernel contains differences, but despite these differences, it is possible to configure it on Android, but I will keep the Manjaro side on the userspace side. By keeping the Android kernel structure you developed in the userspace area, it is graphical and user-based. I will configure the window manager structure for operations. I have a simple plan for the v1 version, but I will develop it in the future.

Yes we used to have this before luka was contributing to the project but we do not have any contributor and maintainer.

You can find some old base pkgs for android kernels in the repo. We cannot give you access to upload pkg directly to our official repo so you will have to maintain your repo.

Okay then I might have to make an agreement with other people because I don’t have my own server so I use github pages but if I have enough money to buy a simple server I can actually set up my own repo structure

ok you can prepare the pkgs then I will look into it.

Okay, after I prepare it, I will present it to you. First of all, I will make adaptations using the Redmi kernel odroid-c4 kernel structure.

One last question, where do you host the source code of the odroid-c4 kernel?
