Manjaro pacnew checker would not detect all pacnew files

Yes, that is what is happening. /tmp/pacnew-check.file is not created when pacnew-checker.hook is started in tty.

I guess manjaro-pacnew-checker has not been coded for use with tty updates. I will ask for improvement as per @omano comment.

manjaro-pacnew-checker was created for use with pamac GUI by users that are unwilling/unable to use CLI

I created a bash script with yad GUI that simulates pacdiff actions.

The older BASH script works with GUI or CLI package managers
