I’m against proprietary software, but not proprietary platforms.
You can just use this from the web browser.

Ah well.
I dont really wanna use discord either.
But … we have a plethora of these things, official and unofficial.
(irc, reddit, telegram, etc etc)

You can do the same with Telegram. And the Telegram client is Open Source, whereas the Discord client is proprietary.

Not voice calls, but group voice channels.
Which is what I find interesting, communication not only happening through text.
Discord is bad for privacy, I am avoiding it as well.

I never quite understood the “Bad for privacy” argument, when you have to share your real name, real address (for technician support) and real bank account, which the use of is already a compromise of privacy all so you can access the world, and conversely give the world access to you.
Unless you’re chatting through some random hapless business owner’s wireless AP some distance from your house or using a fake name for your own account with a VPN which accepts Monero, you truly do not give any toss about privacy because the moment you use your real deets, it’s not only bad opsec, but you also just lost the game.
