Manjaro KDE stuck on asus logo screen

I just downloaded manjaro KDE. I opened up pamac(add or remove software) and did a system update. Now when grub shows up(It works fine) and when i select manjaro i just see the asus logo screen and it stays like that forever.

I found a workaround to make it boot by pressing ctrl+alt+f5(to bring up terminal) and pressing ctrl+alt+f5 again to bring up the login screen

My laptop is ASUS Vivobook Gaming with core i5 8th gen and an NVIDIA GTX 1650 graphics card.
What could be the issue and how can i solve it?

Things i tried:

  1. Use 5.4 LTS version of kernel
  2. using the following commands on terminal
sudo pacman -Syyu haveged
sudo systemctl enable haveged --now

This are the current versions of stuff i have installed

All that looks good, and you seem to have hybrid graphics loaded, so try kernel 5.10 LTS as well (it’s the most recent LTS kernel).

if you get the black screen again, switch to TTY2 with Ctrl+Alt+F2, log in there and provide the output to:

journalctl --boot=0 --system --priority=3 | tail --lines=50
tail --lines=25 /var/log/Xorg.0.log

before logging onto the GUi, please.

update:

I turned off asus splash screen by modifying the /etc/default/grub and removing the term quiet
from GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT= so that i could see where the boot got stuck.
things seemed to be fine for the following afternoon and i could boot in normally without using the weird ctrl+alt+f5 thing

But since then I seem to no longer be able to access tty5 or tty2 (and unable to boot to gui) like you suggested. I am unable to access any sort of terminal to provide you the output of the commands you suggested.(Im still on kernal 5.4LTS, I couldnt download 5.10 because it didnt let me back in )

Luckily since i turned off quiet i could see that it stuck at either

[OK] Started TLP system/shutdown

or

[ 5.297304] nvidia 0000:01:00.0: cant change power state from D3cold to D0 (config space inaccessible)

Is there any known solutions to this issue?

That one is still OK. It’s something else.

Please read this:

Because you’re in for a re-install because I have no clue what you did, nor can I extract any further information from the system.
