Manjaro ISO 25 with some blurry icons

Hello everyone!

While installing the latest Manjaro ISO on my KDE spin, I noticed that the selection icons in the user data menu are very blurry, as if they were out of scale. Is this a general issue or a result of the type of screen?

I don’t know exactly the appropriate category for this type of observation, so I’m leaving it as feedback, since it’s not a problem that affects the installation itself, but rather its aesthetics.

:kangaroo:

… strange way of describing what you did - so:
not sure what you did

… you apparently (tried to) install from the newest ISO?

… which requires a reboot - which results in:

“whatever DE you started from” does not matter anymore - not at all"

Sorry if you haven’t fully understood, my English is still being practiced.

No, as I mentioned, it’s not an installation or functionality issue. I just saw the icons like that and decided to report it, thinking it might be helpful. And give more details if it is useful.

:kangaroo:

ah - it is just about how the icons appear to you

very well - good observation skill

I’d never have even looked at that to notice it as something “off”.

Such things are not in my focus at all when I’m using the ISO to install the OS

cosmetic - still a valid point, I guess

Those icons are svg. Something makes them blur. Qt6-svg package is causing this since Qt 6.9 release.

Could downgrading the ISO fix this? Surely, when the installation process is completed, the package will be updated again?

I don’t know if that’s possible rsrsrsr.

:kangaroo:

Hm?
Downgrading the ISO?

Use an older one - and then run plenty of updates to eventually arrive at the same place.
It’s a rolling distro.

What package?
It was some issue within the installer.

Now you have installed - using it.

What would an update to the installer even do within the already installed system?
… nothing

… what do I care about the crispness of the icons at this stage of the installation?
… what and why would you care?

I was actually referring to the package Philm mentioned, not the ISO.

And look, I understand that you don’t see the need or that the icon thing bothers you. But I just want to help if you don’t find the post useful. I can open a flag so the other moderators can see if this post really should be open.

I just saw something different and maybe I could help resolve something. But if you see that it’s not necessary, okay, no problem.

It’s correct that the system is installed, and I’ve been using Manjaro for almost five years. I needed to dual-boot, and I saw that. At least from my perspective, as a community, I think at least reporting something that may be out of the ordinary is the right thing to do.
