Manjaro is installed, bios recognize harddrive, harddrive first in boot order, boots to windows anyway

I installed manjaro onto a clean harddrive, pretty sure i did it correctly, since the windows drive manager shows me all the right partitions and tells me they have no errors. but still it either boots to windows or my flash drive, if i have it plugged in. so i go to the bios settings, manjaro doesnt show in the uefi queue. but i see the drive it´s installed on under devices. huh. If i enable legacy boot and put the manjaro drive first i get a black screen, probably because i installed it with gpt(?) (im kinda new to this) What else can i try? Should i reinstall with mbr? Is there a reason for why uefi doesnt see my installation? Heres my efibootmgr thing btw. 0003 should be the harddrive with manjaro.

Windows seems to be installed using BIOS - don’t use MBR but BIOS/GPT - just remember to create a 1M partition and flag as bios-boot.

EDIT:

Create the partition when partitioning your install disk - and the partition needs to be unformatted.

Thank you, what mount point should i give it? Also, do i understand correctly that i create this partition alongside my normal boot partition?

it worked!!! you are my hero, thanks. to answer my own question for anyone having the same issue, create the partition alongside your usual partitioning scheme and make it unformated.

Ahh - sorry I wasn’t more specific - but you managed anyhow  and you did right :white_check_mark:
