Manjaro Hibernation Freezes with Black Screen

Hello , I have a PC with Manjaro XFCE and Windows 10 dual booted each on a separate hard disk of 1TB. After hibernation through Manjaro , the screen turns off for a millisecond then turns on with a black screen and a blinking cursor so I had to hard reset my PC using power button , then I lose saved data after PC boots . Manjaro Suspend , Manjaro Hybrid Sleep , and Windows hibernation work fine .

I configured my swap partition while installing to 22GB since I have 12 GB of RAM (according to Manjaro Swap wiki) , I tried using a swap file also .

swapon

NAME      TYPE      SIZE USED PRIO
/dev/sdb6 partition  22G   0B   -2

I also configured my sleep.conf , grub , and mkinitcpio.conf for hibernation :

mkinitcpio.conf

HOOKS="base udev autodetect modconf block keyboard keymap resume filesystems fsck"
//tried moving resume directly after udev

etc/default/grub

GRUB_DEFAULT=saved
GRUB_TIMEOUT=1
GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=hidden

GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR="Manjaro"
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet apparmor=1 security=apparmor resume=UUID=aa4262b7-192e-49b8-9169-4adf76d3dba4 udev.log_priority=3"
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="" //tried moving resume to this entry
//tried turning off os_prober

etc/systemd/sleep.conf

[Sleep]
#AllowSuspend=yes
#AllowHibernation=yes
#AllowSuspendThenHibernate=yes //tried setting to no
#AllowHybridSleep=yes
#SuspendMode=
#SuspendState=mem standby freeze
#HibernateMode=platform shutdown //I tried removing platform
#HibernateState=disk
#HybridSleepMode=suspend platform shutdown
#HybridSleepState=disk
#HibernateDelaySec=1800

Also I applied pm_test debugging and it failed on platform , processors , and core test mode .

journalctl showing transition between two boots (Notice freezing on Hibernation Entry then hard reset is done)

I tried 5.14 , 5.14 , 4.14 linux kernels , but none worked. Trying the same system on my other HP with Intel Celeron Processor / 4 GB Ram / Intel HD graphic Family worked like a charm .

Notes :
*I have a Windows Backup of 600 GB on the Manjaro disk but on separate partition .
*When the screen turns off , I hear a weird/failing noise in the hard disk.
*I apologize if I forgot something but I tried tons of stuff—Thanks in advance.

Edit :
I removed my Manjaro harddisk and booted to it on my Celeron Pc , and hibernation works successfully :confused:

Edit2 :
I even tried Manjaro KDE , EndeavourOS with same problem

Please read this:

A # as the first character on a line means it’s a comment, so it doesn’t do anything have you tried removing the # already???

E.G.

# the following command will destroy your NULL device:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/null
# the following command will NOT destroy your NULL device:
#dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/null

Please read this:

Especially the Linux has multiple kernels section and then install an LTS kernel and boot that.

I don’t want to delete Manjaro even though I am new to it (found it amazing) , so I had to solve the problem somehow.

I formatted my (Manjaro) harddisk , and installed Manjaro alongside Windows on one hard disk , moved Local Disk D to the other hard disk , so now both Manjaro and Windows are one the SSD , and now hibernation works …

I couldn’t really identify the problem although it seems hard disk related , but I am very glad it worked .
