Manjaro Gnome installation stuck on Starting line

Alright so this is my first time trying to install a linux based OS, been trying for like…uhm, 8 hours or so. But it’s still stuck here, tried many fixes but i’m open to suggestions since I really want this OS ;-;

It just says " Starting version … " after I click boot with proprietary drivers since I have a nvidia graphics card…

It’s booted from an USB and i’ve tried various stuff such as rufus, balena etcher and fedora media writer…
No fast boot, only UEFI selected, I don’t really get it…

The usb boots the.uhh, interface that says boot from proprietary drivers and stuff, but when I select boot from proprietary drivers and get to this point it just gets stuck…

you can post link inside of this icon </>… so booting into the live usb is stuck… did you try booting by selecting free drivers instead of proprietary… and is it a dual boot? … thanks for the pic haha

Oh, just tried the proprietary choice, should I go for the free drivers also?
And…sorry, I do not know what do you mean by dual boot, I want to replace windows with linux if that helps in anyway…

dual boot means running manjaro alongside other OS in your case windows… so you have windows installed, so probably it is related to bios setting, and also how you booted your usb - bios or uefi… so first download ventoy and use ventoy to flash your iso onto usb, and check this ‘preparation’ check list:

In my case it’s running smooth until it’s asking for password but when i hit the enter it’s showing Black screen with mouse cursor

I think it’s because of the Nvidia driver but could also be a hardware issue - I also had issues with Lubuntu, Kubuntu and even Pop_OS! in live mode, before starting the installation and during it. It was freezing, sometimes seeing some things on the screen like artifacts (which is GPU error). I had to use an older driver, and I used Manjaro GUI for this.

I modified also the grub folder with GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash pci=nomsi pci=noaer" - for resolving an MSI issue (some PCI hardware not working properly)

Now, I am no expert but maybe someone from this forum can provide you with a similar command that can be done from TTY before starting the installation.

you are not installing anything yet, you are only booting into the live session… and do you have installed windows on that pc?

Yes window 10 is installed and now i want to install manjaro I don’t want dual boot

so disable fast boot - check for it in windows, it also may be in bios
disable secure boot - its in bios
use Ventoy to flash iso on usb

So if it is really a problem of the gpu driver, then try this:

If that works, then one can assume, that its a problem of the gpu driver.
