Manjaro Gnome AMD Desktop 2nd Monitor is Black after Update

Hello. I have been using Manjaro approximately more than 1 year, and after last update I couldnt fix this issue. My 2nd Monitor (which is connected by VGA) is black now. My HDMI Screen works normally. Btw, I have backed up before update, so I am not in big trouble, but I can not update my system :slightly_smiling_face:

I have an AMD Desktop with Vega 8, and dual monitors, I have already mentioned above

As seen above, I have 2 Monitors, 1st is HDMI-A-0 connected, and 2nd is DisplayPort-0 connected one.

Additional Info: whenever I install older Manjaro versions with older Kernels, my Dual Monitors are detected normally, so maybe this problem is related with Kernel. I am not sure.

I am expecting your help. I have searched a lot in forums, but I couldnt find the answer for my question

I have updated my system, and nothing have changed. Isn’t there anyone sharing the same problem with me?

I am using a restored version of Manjaro. However, I need to install MySql to my system and because of this issue, I can’t update my system. If I update, then I lose one of my Screens.

Hello there.

Anybody didn’t answer my question, however I have found a solution so I want to share with others.

I was using VGA monitor approximately for 2 years with Manjaro and same hardware configuration. After Kernel updates on July of 2021, my computer couldn’t detect VGA Monitor. On google, there are some complaints about this one. As soon as I understand, AMD iGPU wants to finish support of VGA output.

So the cheapest solution I found is, buying a DVI-D 24+1 / VGA ACTIVE Converter, and so, now the same VGA Monitor works like a charm.

Maybe there was a free solution with some code to any settings file, however I couldn’t find. I hope this answer will help people like me.

Addition: This problem actually isn’t related with only Manjaro. I have tried my VGA monitor with a fresh and up to date Debian Distro, and my VGA monitor couldn’t be detected anyway. So, I think this detection problem was bacause new Kernel Versions on Manjaro (and all other Distros of Linux) doesn’t suppor VGA anymore/
