Manjaro freezing randomly on several diferent kernals

As far as I’m aware, this never happens when the computer is not in use. Normally one of three things will happen. 1. It will freeze but sound will continue playing and it will normally unfreeze after a minute or two. The mouse can move like normal, but nothing is intractable. 2.Everything will suddenly slowdown and the mouse will inch slowly across the screen to where you moved it but things are still intractable. Rarely ever comes out of this state. 3. Everything will freeze, the clock doesn’t move while its frozen. The only way to exit is by holding the power button down and hard rebooting. I have several kernels installed and tried them to see if one of them was the problem, but the problem persists.

Sounds like you’re running out of RAM, try adding some swap.

Instead of using the power button, do this:

I’ll keep htop open next time I’m using my computer because it will just be running perfectly then stop

Add a swap file.

It is very easy to setup!

Otherwise, you could try the non-rt kernels.

I’m considering just upgrading my because my harddrive is slow and my other storage is an ssd( also the real time kernel was the one a was trying at the time)
