I have a problem with my monitors and Manjaro detecting the correct monitor brand/model number/screen resolution.
I’ll try to be as exhaustive as possible, so please bear with me.
I have 2 monitors. A samsung Syncmaster 2032mw and a Samsung S24.
Manjaro detected these monitors and their model number correctly until recently.
I recently changed my graphics card from a Radeon R9 380X to a Radeon RX 7900 XTX. When using one monitor, I have no issues, but when I plugged in my second monitor, it asked for a new screen configuration.
The only change I made was switching the HDMI to HDMI cable of the Samsung S24 to a Displayport to HDMI cable and switching the DVI to DVI cable of the Samsung Syncmaster to a HDMI to HDMI cable.
As I said before, after booting my PC, Manjaro detected the monitors and asked for a new configuration. I couldn’t auto-assign, but manually assigning the monitors wasn’t possible either because the only monitors in the list were Philips monitors.
After checking the settings I saw that my S24 was assigned the name Samsung Electric company "63 and the Syncmaster was assigned the name Samsung Electric company "7.
The screenshot shows the correct resolution, but my monitor’s output is cut off.
Meanwhile I learned that my monitor has a native 1680x1050 (16:10) resolution (it is a TV monitor). With DVI this wasn’t a problem, but switching to HDMI apparently causes Manjaro to only show 16:9 resolution settings. Adding a new mode to xrandr also doesn’t solve the issue, as switching to this mode causes the monitor to return the message: “mode not supported” on a black screen.

The Displayport monitor’s output is fine. It is the HDMI monitor that is cut off. It detects it as a "7 screen.
If anyone can help me figure out the problem of why all of a sudden it can’t detect the same monitor model number and settings, I would be really grateful.
