Manjaro does not detect my Bluetooth adapter

Hi! I’m new to Manjaro, coming from openSUSE Leap.

Manjaro does not detect my Bluetooth adapter. GNOME Settings says:

No Bluetooth Found
Plug in a dongle to use Bluetooth

See? It says:

Bluetooth:
  Message: No bluetooth data found.

But my Bluetooth adapter is also my Wi-Fi adapter, which is detected:

Device-2: Intel Wireless 8265 / 8275 driver: iwlwifi v: kernel pcie: gen: 1
    speed: 2.5 GT/s lanes: 1 bus-ID: 03:00.0 chip-ID: 8086:24fd class-ID: 0280
IF: wlp3s0 state: up mac: <filter>

Wi-Fi is working. Although I’m not able to connect to my home 5GHz network from Manjaro. But that’s another problem, that I can solve later…

What should I do to get Bluetooth working on my system?

Thank you in advance!

It doesn’t look like it’s detecting the bluetooth module at all. But it may be worth checking what software is installed:

pamac search blue | grep -i installed

Mine comes up with:

pulseaudio-bluetooth 17.0-3 [Installed] extra
bluez-qt5 5.116.0-1 [Installed] extra
bluez-qt 6.5.0-1 [Installed] extra
bluez-obex 5.77-1 [Installed] extra
bluez-libs 5.77-1 [Installed] extra
bluez 5.77-1 [Installed] extra
bluedevil 1:6.0.5.1-1 [Installed] extra

I remembered I needed to tweak some kernel setting with openSUSE a long time ago. It seems it is an specific issue of this laptop (Acer Aspire E15 laptop, model number E5-573-54ZV).

I needed to blacklist the acer_wmi kernel module:

echo 'blacklist acer_wmi' > /etc/modprobe.d/btconfig.conf

Then rebuild initramfs:

mkinitcpio -P

And, finally, reboot.

That’s it! My Bluetooth adapter is working now!

Just for reference, maybe it is useful for someone reading this thread in the future:

gnome-bluetooth-3.0 46.1-1 [Installed] extra
bluez-utils 5.77-1 [Installed] extra
bluez-libs 5.77-1 [Installed] extra
bluez 5.77-1 [Installed] extra

@BG405 thank you!
