Manjaro booting in emergency mode after power outage

Hello, kinda new to manjaro here and first time forum user.
I have been using Manjaro as a daily driver for about a year now (Prev windows user).
Today i had a power outage and when i powered on my pc it booted in emergency mode with the following messages:

Timed out waiting for device /dev/device… and the uuid of the partition
Dependency failed for /boot/efi

this also hapens for the root and swap partition…

I am able to boot to my system when exiting out of emergency mode but on restart i boot back to emergency mode.

I have tried other kernels (6.3, 6.2, 6.1, 5.15) but its all the same.
I have tried repairing the partitions with fsck from Manjaro live but nothing happens.
I have tried running mkinitcpio -P still nothing.
I checked the uuid in /etc/fstab with the output of blkid and they are the same.

How can i solve this? I have read other similar forum posts about this but nothing helped me.

fstab:

# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# Use 'blkid' to print the universally unique identifier for a device; this may
# be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices that works even if
# disks are added and removed. See fstab(5).

what do you mean nohting happens? is there any output or what? can you access your files? were you updating during the power outage?

I am sorry. I recreated the issue.

This is what i get no mater what i try.

Thank you for the reply!
[Edit]
No i was not updating. I was processing vulcan shaders for battlefield V using steam proton

so boot into manjaro live usb, and run fsck on your sda1,2,3 partitions, one at a time:

sudo fsck -f /dev/sda1
sudo fsck -f /dev/sda2
sudo fsck -f /dev/sda3

and yes to all, if you are prompted …

EDIT:
if there were some repairs, reboot and see if it helped

I also cloned the drive to another ssd with dd and i got the same thing

the fsck looks ok…
chroot:
manjaro-chroot -a
rerun update:
pacman-mirrors --fasttrack 5 && pacman -Syyu
if no errors, and you are up to date, run:
ldconfig
this should return nothing … then post output:
mkinitcpio -P && update-grub

manjaro-chroot -a

[EDIT]
Whan i update grub from my system i dont get this error:

ERROR: mkdir /var/lock/dmraid

everything looks ok… and you really dont need to have installed all available kernels, i would remove the 5.4, 5.10, 6.2 …

yes this happens if you run update-grub from chroot, ignore it…

so exit chroot:
exit
reboot and see if you can boot…

i can boot (By entering my root password and running exit)
But i always get booted to emergency mode first.

so you boot, get stuck, then you enter your password, exit and you boot normally?

Exactly like that. And i really don’t know what is wrong here… I have checked everything…

[EDIT]
My mistake. When i type exit my pc does not reboot, it just starts xfce in normal mode

# MODULES
# The following modules are loaded before any boot hooks are
# run. Advanced users may wish to specify all system modules
# in this array. For instance:
#     MODULES=(piix ide_disk reiserfs)
MODULES="amdgpu"

# BINARIES
# This setting includes any additional binaries a given user may
# wish into the CPIO image. This is run last, so it may be used to
# override the actual binaries included by a given hook
# BINARIES are dependency parsed, so you may safely ignore libraries
BINARIES=()

# FILES
# This setting is similar to BINARIES above, however, files are added
# as-is and are not parsed in any way. This is useful for config files.
FILES=""

# HOOKS
# This is the most important setting in this file. The HOOKS control the
# modules and scripts added to the image, and what happens at boot time.
# Order is important, and it is recommended that you do not change the
# order in which HOOKS are added. Run 'mkinitcpio -H <hook name>' for
# help on a given hook.
# 'base' is _required_ unless you know precisely what you are doing.
# 'udev' is _required_ in order to automatically load modules
# 'filesystems' is _required_ unless you specify your fs modules in MODULES
# Examples:
## This setup specifies all modules in the MODULES setting above.
## No raid, lvm2, or encrypted root is needed.
#    HOOKS=(base)
#
## This setup will autodetect all modules for your system and should
## work as a sane default
# HOOKS=(base udev autodetect block filesystems)
#
## This setup will generate a 'full' image which supports most systems.
##   No autodetection is done.
#    HOOKS=(base udev block filesystems)
#
## This setup assembles a pata mdadm array with an encrypted root FS.
## Note: See 'mkinitcpio -H mdadm' for more information on raid devices.
# HOOKS=(base udev block mdadm encrypt filesystems)
#
## This setup loads an lvm2 volume group on a usb device.
#    HOOKS=(base udev block lvm2 filesystems)
#
## NOTE: If you have /usr on a separate partition, you MUST include the
# usr, fsck and shutdown hooks.

i wanted to check if theres something in the logs before the timed out message:

something related to intel graphics, but i dont think it has anything to do with the timed out …

it waits for the swap partition, so try to uncomment if in fstab

#UUID=46fc092e-df39-47fc-b405-b08088a5d44b swap           swap    defaults,noatime 0 0

save it, reboot and see…

fstab:

# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# Use 'blkid' to print the universally unique identifier for a device; this may
# be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices that works even if
# disks are added and removed. See fstab(5).
#
# <file system>             <mount point>  <type>  <options>  <dump>  <pass>
UUID=5DCE-90EE                            /boot/efi      vfat    umask=0077 0 2
UUID=d98ac944-f9cc-43c9-acd0-152b5f7b3586 /              ext4    defaults,noatime 0 1
UUID=46fc092e-df39-47fc-b405-b08088a5d44b swap           swap    defaults,noatime 0 0
tmpfs                                     /tmp           tmpfs   defaults,noatime,mode=1777 0 0

swap is not commented (never was)… Where did you get this from?

[EDIT]
I use the intel ARC770 for the main monitor and i have the secondary monitor running on ryzen7 5700G iGPU

i meant to add # to the swap uuid in your fstab, so that it looks like this:

maybe something got reset in your bios/uefi during the power outage?
are you dual booting with windows? if yes, is fast startup disabled?
is fast boot disabled in your bios/uefi - you may not have this option…

Did it and still the same… :joy:
Only linux
Fast boot and Secure boot disabled

so undo the fstab modification, and reinstall one kernel, for example the 5.15 if you are not running it:
sudo mhwd-kernel -r linux515
install it again:
sudo mhwd-kernel -i linux515
reboot and boot with the 5.15

Still nothing. Tried with linux515 and linux 62…
At this point i really have to thank you for the 4+ hours you have been helping me

Just out of curiosity, if you have Live USB of Manjaro with you, try powering off from the Live USB to see what happens (a clean test).
