Make ctrl + shift + u work on XFCE for unicode input

Hi,

I am coming from MX Linux where I used to be able to enter Unicode entering the hex code using the shortcut CTRL+Shift+u. However, that does not work on Manjaro.

How can I enter Unicode characters by entering the code? Or, what do I have to install so that ctrl+shift+u works on Manjaro?

I guess you mean this here: IBus - ArchWiki

Indeed, exactly what I was looking for, megavolt.

I just put the following three line into the file /etc/invironment

GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus
QT_IM_MODULE=ibus
XMODIFIERS=@im=ibus

Then I started the IBUS daemon:

ibus-daemon -drxR

Works like a charm. Thanks very much! :+1:
