Not the solution I was aiming for - it added 300M to the ISO - the price of convenience - I will have to investigate further when I am not tired.

PS: The new iso works on the x220, the desktop loads. But no trackpad. I once plugged in a simple USB mouse, the pointer works with it.

I have now tested the current ISO using a Thinkpad T550 - touchpad is working - for some reason trackpad is not.
After installation trackpad is also functional.

I found another error related to rofi and decided that since I don’t have the time to maintain all three only the lxqt-kwin spinoff will be maintained.
