LXQt - Community ISO

The new LXQt ISO has been uploaded.

Why am I doing this? Because I can - joke aside - I enjoy creating something new and I have come to appreciate the combination of LXQt and kwin - so it is mainly because I use it - and if You find it usable too - I am honored - thank you.

The installer is located in the System Tools menu.

For you to enjoy and have fun with

Thanks, I’ll download it tonight. I like the small system file size for use in a VM. :grinning:

It stops here. Virtualbox 4GB Memory, 1 core i71165G intel, VMSVGA 64MB.

I have no idea - I have tested on bare metal - a Clevo N141WU (intel 620 graphics)

This is not a real Manjaro but a modified version.

The following drivers is present with the live ISO - it seems I have forgotten the vmware display driver - though I don’t think it makes much of difference with relation to VirtualBox (vbox drivers is built into the kernel) - I will try adding it.

xf86-input-evdev
xf86-input-libinput
xf86-input-vmmouse
xf86-video-amdgpu
xf86-video-dummy
xf86-video-fbdev
xf86-video-nouveau
xf86-video-vesa

Just tested on a relabeled clevo NV40MZ (Intel iris XE): starts clean, no trackpad

tested on a lenovo x220: starts clean, no trackpad

The core system as in kernel and drivers has not been changed and in that regard the system on the ISO is identical (accomodated for newer packages) to previous ISOs - it is only the graphical part which is changed.

The Clevo system works as expected.

The following config is used in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-touchpad.conf

Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "tap-by-default"
    MatchIsTouchpad "on"
    MatchDriver "libinput"
    Option "Tapping" "on"
EndSection

The synaptics package is not included - because it is deprecated.

I have just uploaded a new ISO it has been suffixed -2.

I booted to command line - edit grub and add 3 to the kernel cli then I get a message about xterm not found - and indeed xterm is not installed.

No trackpad on the x220.

I have no idea why - so I am rechecking this

No problem, I am happy to help (even if it is bad news).

Not the solution I was aiming for - it added 300M to the ISO - the price of convenience - I will have to investigate further when I am not tired.

Good luck

PS: The new iso works on the x220, the desktop loads. But no trackpad. I once plugged in a simple USB mouse, the pointer works with it.

I want to thank you for testing this. I appreciate the feedback.

I hav a Thinkpad T550 to verify .

I have now tested the current ISO using a Thinkpad T550 - touchpad is working - for some reason trackpad is not.

After installation trackpad is also functional.

Hi,

LXQt is talking about the next release, Qt 6 coming

I hope it will be available for X86 and arm devices.

Installing the openbox edition:

Thank you.

I found another error related to rofi and decided that since I don’t have the time to maintain all three only the lxqt-kwin spinoff will be maintained.

Alright, no problem.
