This is efi multiboot laptop with Manjaro as the first OS, where Manjaro is installed (May 17, 2026) into 3 partitions: /boot/efi, /root and /home with LUKS encryption. Otherwise Manjaro works OK.
When starting (launching) the system, Manjaro requires to write LUKS password for /home partition twice (two times). Why ? Can I correct it somehow ?
For instance, in Arch Linux once is enough.
Hello @pelka and welcome.
For others to help, they will need more detail from you.
Please provide your system information according to forum guidelines.
Regards.
[Mini-HowTo] Provide System Information
Basic details provided by *-fetch type apps might give enough information for someone wishing to buy a computer, however, for Support purposes itβs best to ask your system directly.
Output of the inxi command will generate more useful and detailed information for those who may wish to help:
Suggested inxi command (use either):
inxi -zv8
(short-form)
inxi --filter --verbosity=8
(long-form)
Command output should be presented as pre-formatted text in accordance with forum guidelines.
Running inxi within a chroot environment
Add --color=0 to the long-form command, orβ¦
Change the short-form command to inxi -zv8c0
Your privacy is respected
[Mini-HowTo] Present code or command output
Note : Grave accent (or, backtick ) characters are used.
For inline code or to show a single command:
please follow this simple example: code here.
For multi-line command output :
place text beween two rows of three (```) backtick characters to form a scrollable text box, or β¦
use the </> button in the Compose window to achieve the same result.
The empty row between these rows of backtick characters is where to paste any multi-line command output (such as inxi).
An example of a pre-formatted text enclosure:
What is a Quark?
A. In Physics, an elementary particle and fundamental constituent of matter.
B. A character from the Star Trek: "Deep Space Nine" television series.
C. A soft, creamy, usually unsalted cheese traditional to central Europe.
Just to add that I recall this issue has arisen in the past, and there is a solution β please use the forum search, and hopefully you might find it. Cheers.

Thank you for good instructions !
I opened the link and tried to adjust my installation as advised in items 7.1.1 and 7.3.
The 1st command for item 7.1.1 (i.e. ββsudo printf β%sβ β¦ββ) did not allow me to proceed. So, instead I used sudo nano /etc/cryptsetup-keys.d/keyfile.key to create the keyfile.key file and to write and save my passphrase into this file.
Then I added the keyfile.key into LUKS cryptsetup as advised in item 7.3 and rebooted. The result: This Manjaro installation still requires /home password twice.
[ I found this source of info in Issue Β· GitHub advising to 1.) open /etc/crypttab and 2.) replace the luks field none with /crypto_keyfile.bin , 3.) run dracut to rebuild initrd and 4.) reboot. Iβve not tried this method since it covers other distribution. ]
Today (3.5.26) at 1st I dismantled from the system my keyfile.key changes and tried then to repair booting as advised for Mandriva: 1.) I opened /etc/crypttab and 2.) replaced the luks field none with */crypto_keyfile.bin , 3.) run mkinitcpio -g initramfs-7.0-x86.img ==>> resulting with
ββ 'β¦ Initcpio image generation successful
