Lost context menu in System Tray (main user account)

I’m not sure if I just missed this - but I did a timeshift restore, then applied the update to 5.21 again.

I created a new Maia panel to check it wasn’t something weird with Latte…

I can get menu’s for everything outside the system tray, but if I click (for example) keyboard layout (though hovering shows information as usual) I can’t get a right/left click action or menu to do anything.

It is working on a TEST user… so my question is which part of my config, or hidden file, should I look at to restore it?

Use the Default Panel.

Yes, tried that too - now I’m trying a fresh start…

Wow, this is rough - it’s back again. I don’t know how, but I lost the right click action again. Always, the first config to be lost is the menu from Meta key - that never works more than a few seconds. Seems it cancels whenever I use another shortcut.

This is now getting worse.
I Timeshift restored to an earlier date - and then did the update again.
The default panel worked fine, then I switched to Latte dock and it worked for a while - but adding the event calendar messed up. On reboot, the event calendar wasn’t in the dock, it appeared on the desktop already open and with no visible option to remove. Right clicking on qbittorrent in the systray failed - so I have to open a terminal and kill it in order to exit the session.

What a mess.

I can’t log out/log in again, it hangs. I had to reboot every time.
Maybe I need to download a new ISO and waste another day trying to get back to the start?

Anyway, first option I guess is to restore a different snapshot, this is crazy.

Assuming this is a latte-dock issue, I purged Latte-dock and put in a default menu - but the same issue arises. I can’t right click and get options for the keyboard or for qbittorrent.

Renaming .configBAK and rebooting brings me a default panel (Meta opens the menu too…) and default systray setup - launching bittorrent I still can’t get the right click menu from the systray.

Wow.
I looked in ~/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids.
Two folders in there looked interesting:

mv org.kde.plasma.private.systemtray > porg.kde.plasma.private.systemtray>
mv org.kde.plasma.systemtray > porg.kde.plasma.systemtray`

Where did these come from???
I guess a reboot will tell me if they’re created at boot - but moving them seems to give me options to use the systray with 3rd party apps (easystroke/qbittorrent/dropbox working fine now, in Latte also).

Time for a reboot.

Finally done again - built a new Latte and tidied up some profiles… docks hide from windows (always in tiling mode) installed Kvantum and pulled in the configs from timeshifts.

Here it is in ‘cool’ mode with ‘inactive blur’ winter wallpapers.
