After switching from stable to testing, I noticed that my screen went from 2560 x 1080 to 1920 x 1080.
Looks like this is related to a known NVidia driver issue which has not yet been resolved for Pascal cards (I’m using a GTX 1070).

You might try installing the 570xx driver instead – the theory being that “the monitor will correctly default to 2560x1080” once the 580xx drivers are replaced.
Just tried again to switch from stable to testing with my GTX 1070 setup. Tried to downgrade the driver due to the resolution issues as @soundofthunder suggested.
But I can’t install any other Nvidia driver version, as they conflict with video-nvidia, nor can I remove video-nvidia as it is required by linux617-nvidia. Tried the same with kernel 6.18, same conflicts.
Update: After a reboot, the output of conflicting packages changed. Somehow some packages related to Virtualbox where causing issues. Also Zed had a direct dependency to the the Nvidia vulkan package.
After removing all those packages, I was able to downgrade to Nvidia 575 and for now my screen is back at 2560x1080.
Mod note:-
As your posts were spread between two Testing Announcement threads, I thought it best to consolidate them into a dedicated topic, even though the issue seems to be resolved.
This is often ignored by some, the importance of a reboot after system files have been updated or otherwise replaced.
