Loop at login after update

I wanted to update my system, but I always got “error pgp key”, so I edited the file /etc/pacman.conf with a siglevel = Never. After rebooting I’m stuck at login: I type the correct password but after a little loading sign, the login is always there.
I tried to update by mounting the system from a live version and using chroot, but nothing to do. What else could I do?

so did you run update after you edited the etc/pacman.conf?

Yes, I knew it’s risky, but there were no way otherwise to update

so its something related to the update not the editing the conf…
in the login screen enter (if you can) TTY, press ctrl+alt+f2 or f1-f6, enter your username/password and type:
startx
and post picture of it

I posted the output here: [user@user-pc]$startxX.Org X Server 1.21.1.7X Protocol Version 11, Reuision - Pastebin.com

there is this:

startplasma-x11: error while loading shared libraries: libKF5Notifications.so.5: cannot open shared object fIle: No such file or directory

probably something got messed up during update…
also run this:
sudo ldconfig
if it returns nothing, as it should, proceed with reinstallation of the broken library:
reinstall it + its dependecies, and just in case use overwrite:

sudo pacman -S libcanberra libdbusmenu-qt5 kwindowsystem kconfig kcoreaddons qt5-speech libxtst --overwrite '*'

reboot:
systemctl reboot

Sorry for the delayed response. I tried what you wrote, but it didn’t solve. After rebooting the problem is still there and startx reports always the problem with libkf5notifications

so first thing is, rerun update again:
sudo pacman-mirrors --fasttrack 5 && sudo pacman -Syyu
are you up to date?

Yes, by tty2 I executed these commands and everything is up to date

so you can try the last option, and reinstall everything, its little drastic, but i dont know what else to try since it is still complaining about the k5notifications…:

sudo pacman -Qqn | sudo pacman --overwrite=* -S -

reboot

I just did that, but nothing to do. I also removed plasma with all its dependcies and reinstalled it, but the problem is always there. Isn’t there anything else I could try?

what do you mean with nothing to do?

this command reinstalled every package you have and it did with overwrite, to get rid of some exist in filesystem, some ldconfig issues etc…

boot into manjaro live usb, make sure you are connected to internet, open terminal and chroot:
manjaro-chroot -a
and post output from:
mhwd-kernel -li && mhwd -l -li
ls /etc/modprobe.d
find /etc/X11/ -name "*.conf"
and logs from the failed boot:
journalctl -b-1 -p4 --no-pager

I meant that I run that command but the problem is still there, but I really can’t figure out why, since as you said every package should have been reinstalled.
The outputs are:

`[manjaro /]# mhwd-kernel -li && mhwd -l -li

you have 4 kernels installed, did you tried booting with them all?
