Logitech C920 Webcam - No microphones work if this is plugged in

I’ve been using this without problem however today I had issues on MS Teams with sound. Nobody could hear me no matter what microphone I used. I eventually worked out that if the webcam was plugged in then none of the microphones would work including the inbuilt one in the C920 webcam. I primarily use the microphone built into as it works well. For now I can either have no video or no sound given the presence of the webcam stops any microphone from working (2 different usb ones, one wired and and one wireless) and as mentioned before the one built into the webcam also. Any ideas how to resolve?

Just to be clear that whilst this issue was first noticed in MS Teams it is affected right across the system. If I go to sound then none of the available microphones register any sound. Only if I unplug the webcam am I then able to see within the sound settings the sound being registered when I speak.

I suggest changing Profile for the webcam from iec958-stereo to analog-stereo

And set the webcam as default-source for audio capture

@nikgnomic Many thanks for the reply and apologies for the slow response. I ran into other issues with a piece of software we have to use on Windows for the business I work for and that has taken until today to get the issues sorted. Anyway there was a hdx-realtime-media-engine update today so I installed that and thought that was at least worth a reboot to see if it helped anything and to my surprise my webcam microphone now work again. It wasn’t just a reboot that was needed as I already done a couple of reboots and tried different kernels to no avail. Anyway whatever has happened has fixed it anyway. I’ve kept your settings changes around if the issue does turn up again. Thanks for taking the trouble to look at this for me. It is very much appreciated.
