Lockscreen Broken (loginctl restart-session 2) old fix not working

After the last update, I am unable to lock my screen. I get a screen that says that the lock screen is broken, and I can fix it with loginctl unlock-session 2, which worked only the first time y used it after a reboot. But it has stopped working. I have rebooted and followed the solutions listed here Old Error Fix yet it is not working. I already replaced “qt5-virtualkeyboard-bigscreen with qt5-virtualkeyboard”

Maybe important: Before the update (I did not have this issue), but when I connected to an external monitor, the display would practically freeze (it was extremely slow). The solution was to downgrade kscreeen and libkscreen (currently 5.24.90-1). Everytime I upgrade, my external monitor is extremely slow.

Same problem here after last update - no solution yet

Do you see any errors in your logs? I only see warnings.

I am going to downgrade all packages to a previous date, to see if it works!

Waa - that sounds like a big job

No errors in my logs
I found this screen-locker test somewhere … does not give encouraging result

$ /usr/lib/kscreenlocker_greet --testing
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

It also simply wont be possible with many packages.
The guide shown above is probably a bad idea to apply to all packages in most cases … but is also meant for arch linux, as is the arch ilnux archive … it will not contain all the same packages as manjaro repositories, and some packages will be different in and of themselves by missing a manjaro overlay, etc.

If it works at all … it will likely leave your system in a bad state.

Tanks for the advice, it is my primary computer so that would be a real disaster.

I used the command and obtained that libKF5ScreenDpms.so.8 was missing. I updated the screen and libscreen to the current one and it fixed the problem.

I have not tested if the second monitor works properly now (I had an older version of those libraries since it made my second monitor almost freeze and made it unusable). If it does not work, I will try to downgrade the libraries again and look for one that does not freeze the second screen and keep the lock-screen.

Happy you found at least a part solution
Mine is still broken …
If the last update broke it, maybe some future update will fix it
That’s what I’m hoping
I have to say that Plasma has become difficult for me
I have invested 15+ years in kde, but now there are a lot of issues at each update ):

Update, for the entertainment value:
Lock screen now works again without me doing anything or applying an update - nice
Is Plasma becoming self-healing?
