LibreOffice Writer and Impress: cursor disappears for a while after changing font size

Recently I’ve started having this issue with LO. For example, I change font size and the cursor disappears; I can’t type or delete characters for several seconds, only select text. Then the cursor reappears and I can type again. What’s up with this weird behavior?

I tried to find this issue via a search engine, but I can’t find a thread on this particular problem.

Same here…in LO Impress, whenever I try to modify a text box, I can only select words but no cursor.

I can recover the cursor and modify text when I disable/enable the compositor with Shift + Alt + F12…but it only stays for a small time, then disappears again.
